1.4M€ Novo Nordisk Excellence Emerging Investigator Grant awarded to GeneCellNano Flagship PI Anna-Kaisa Ruotsalainen
GeneCellNano Flagship PI, Anna-Kaisa Ruotsalainen from the University of Eastern Finland, has been awarded the Novo Nordisk Excellence Emerging Investigator Grant within Endocrinology and Metabolism grant of 1.4M € for a five-year-project on hepatocyte metabolism during liver regeneration in chronic injury to better understand the progression of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH), with the ultimate goal of identifying new therapeutic targets for MASH.
The Excellence Emerging Investigator Grant within Endocrinology and Metabolism are aimed to support and strengthen the development of young and promising research leaders, and to promote Nordic research at a high international level. The grants are for starting group leaders with ambitious projects within endocrinology and metabolism that aim to understand the human organism and the mechanisms underlying health and disease at a basic and clinical level.
