Significant funding from Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation for Next-Generation Molecular Sensors research project
The Next-Generation Molecular Sensors research project, led by GeneCellNano Flagship PI Caglar Elbuken, has received nearly one million euros in funding from the Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation for a three-year research initiative. The project aims to develop molecular biosensors capable of identifying and measuring individual biomolecules at the cellular level, which could revolutionize the early diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The collaborative project led by Professor Elbuken involves several Principal Investigators from University of Oulu: Professor Seppo Vainio, GeneCellNano Flagship vice-director, as well as Professors Aki Manninen and Simo Saarakkala, and Assistant Professor Jian-An Huang.
