Role in project: Algorithm development, bioinformatics methods for biomarkers and targets discovery.
Research and expertise: I’m a research group leader in the Faculty of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine at University of Oulu. My group has a keen interest in the development of novel bioinformatics tools for the study of the tumor microenvironment, with a particular focus on the extracellular matrix (ECM). In the Flagship, my team contributes to the identification of signaling pathways and target molecules for the development of new treatment strategies for various diseases, where the ECM is key.
