Role in project: CAR NK cells

I lead a research group focusing on genetically modifying immune cells for treatment of cancer, and we are a part of the iCell (Immune Cell Therapy of Cancer) program at the Finnish Red Cross Blood Service. The research spans from basic research to translational studies, with a goal of targeting both hematological and solid cancers. We are interested in modifying both T and NK cells with chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) and other constructs. Our project in the Flagship focuses on making novel CARs for NK cells, and developing clinically translatable expansion methodology for CAR NK cells
