Anna-Kaisa Ruotsalainen
Principal Investigator (GeneCellNano)
Senior Researcher
Research line: Gene
Role in project: Cardiovascular diseases, lipid metabolism, RNA therapies, lipid nanoparticles
Research and expertise: My research group explores how cells adapt their metabolism under stress and how these changes influence tissue repair and regeneration in cardiometabolic diseases. We aim to uncover the underlying mechanisms to drive the development of therapies that resolve inflammation and fibrosis and improves tissue regeneration, ultimately improving treatment options for cardiovascular and chronic liver diseases.
Research interests: atherosclerosis, vascular metabolism, hyperlipidemias, energy metabolism, coronary microvascular dysfunction, macrophages, histopathology, disease models.
